Agra, Uttar Pradesh
Travelling in India is so amazing because everything is different for European people but very enriching, that’s why travelers have to go in India because it is an incredible country. The first thing to do of course is to see one of the Seven Wonders of the World the Taj Mahal!
It is a stunning symbol of India’s history and one of the world’s most celebrated structures. The Taj Mahal is considered as one of the greatest architectural jewel.
It is one of my best memories in India when I went in Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan well-known for its amazing jewelry.
With my friends we decided to plan our trip by booking train tickets from Jaipur to Agra. You can also go by Bus or Uber, it’s more comfortable but more expensive too. If you have adventurous spirit, I definitely recommend you to try the train 😉
The first advice that I can give is to prepare your trip one week in advance to be sure to have available seat in the train. At every station, a guy will propose you food and drinks and even outside the train, guys with water will be there.
When you want to visit the Taj Mahal, it is better to go in the morning to avoid heat and crowd. Actually, we decided to go at the opening hour around 7pm, we don’t wait a lot to have our tickets and the heat was bearable. At the entry, several touristic guides will be present and even photographers will ask to take pictures with this amazing architectural work of art.
You can go inside the Taj Mahal but you have to remove your shoes because this is a sacred place.
The story of Taj Mahal is really impressive; it is about Shah Jahan, an emperor, member of the Mughal dynasty who decided to build this magnificent monument for the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, a muslim Persian princess.
The Taj Mahal has architectural Indian, Persian and Islamic influences. It is built with white marble and also semi-precious stones such as jade, crystal lapis and amethyst; and took approximately 22 years to build, with more than 20,000 workers and 1,000 elephants!
What can you do in Agra?
After visiting the Taj Mahal you can also visited the Baby Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort which are pretty cool and you can see the Taj Mahal from the Agra Fort.
Baby Taj Mahal
On this beautiful and happening trip to Agra, I got chance to understand one of the prominent business of Agra . Agra is very famous for making handmade and machine made silver chains and accessories. Big giants like ACPL is located in Agra. Agra and Jaipur work closely together in Jewelry business where Jaipur manufacturers focus on making gemstone jewelry, Agra manufacturers have specialized artisans, machines to make plain metal chains and accessories.
So, next time when you visit this beautiful city, my suggestion is to check out the huge campus of ACPL and do not miss to check the authentic sterling silver jewelry with natural precious and semi-precious gemstones at Shaurya International, Jaipur ( www.shauryainternational.com )
